The Guest alternatives
The Guest app alternatives: where to collect wedding photos now
The Guest, The Knot’s guest photo-sharing app, has been discontinued – new downloads ended in June 2024 – so couples need a different service. If guests should upload without an app, choose a browser-based QR gallery such as Guest Pictures, Knipsmig, Kululu or GuestPix; if an app is fine, WedShoots from The Knot Worldwide is free, and POV or Lense offer a disposable-camera format.
Below we compare the main replacements on the points that decide how many guests take part: whether they need an app, whether they need an account, what it costs and how long the photos are kept.
We make Guest Pictures – this comparison is written by us. All details come from the vendors’ own pages, checked on 6 October 2026 (sources at the end). Corrections are welcome via our contact page.

What happened to The Guest?
The Knot shut down The Guest. According to Lense, which – like Kululu – publishes a page for former The Guest users, downloads ended in June 2024. We have no information about access to albums created before that; if you still need old photos, ask The Knot directly.
How to choose a replacement
- No app for guests: Guest Pictures, Knipsmig, Kululu, GuestPix, Wedibox or GuestCam – all run in the browser after a QR scan.
- Free: WedShoots (app and guest account), Knipsmig’s free month (no photo limit), or the smaller free tiers of Guest Pictures, Kululu, Wedibox and GuestPix.
- Disposable-camera format: POV (app or App Clip) or Lense (app or browser).
- Video: Knipsmig, GuestCam, WedShoots or Lense (add-on). Guest Pictures is photos only for now.
- Long storage: Knipsmig Keepsake (forever), Wedibox (1–2 years), GuestPix (12–24 months), Lense (1 year).
When an app-based option fits better
- Your guests already use WedShoots or a wedding-planning app and are happy to sign up.
- You want a disposable camera with a delayed reveal: POV or Lense.
- You need video uploads.
When Guest Pictures fits better
- No app and no account for guests: they scan the QR code and upload in the browser.
- Guest pages in their language: English, German, French, Spanish and Italian.
- Free to start, with free photos included; unlimited photos for €29.99 once, and any guest can pay.
- A live slideshow, photo missions, an event photo booth and printable QR table cards are included.
